A BRIEF HISTORY
Aunt Ilike grew up in the small Hungarian village of Nagykbkenyes and began learning herbal medicine at a very young age from her grandmother, the village herbalist. She combined her knowledge of herbal ingredients and their effects with studies in biochemistry and aesthetics. She began making her products 50 years ago and later established her manufacturing company together with her son, Ferenc Molnar. Even now she plays an important role in the company that manufactures her products that are presented in exclusive salons and spas in over 30 countries, for example; Hungary, Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, USA and Canada. The products are still manufactured in their original, traditional way, with no mass production. Every order is freshly made in small batches from hand-selected, high potency, herbs, fruits and vegetables.

ABOUT THE ILIKE ORGANIC SKIN CARE PRODUCT LINE
The Ilike Organic Skin Care treats both the skin and the senses, by combining the highest quality organic Hungarian ingredients with the age-old secrets of select herbs, fruits and vegetables (organic certifications: BDIH 01/11/09, Eco-Cert affiliate Qiokontroll Hungary 3900/06, EU decree 2092/91/EGK). The formulations (that are result-oriented) and aromatherapy effects of IliKe Organic Skin Care provide an experience that only skin care products from natural sources can produce.

Besides the 50 years of history, craftsmanship and experience, the Ilike Organic Skin Care products embody several centuries of unsurpassed skin rejuvenation techniques unique to Hungary. Through half a century of practice and extensive research, the patented natural ingredients are formulated by secret recipes and processes. The recipe has demonstrated a therapeutic and rejuvenating effect, resulting in a more balanced and glowing complexion. We don't use synthetic preservatives, fillers, or other ingredients and never test our products on animals.

When you open a jar of an Ilike Organic Skin Care product, you will discover an effective and delicious concentration of organically grown and hand-picked herbs, fruits and vegetables. Our products not only smell and look luscious; they also are very effective in treating many skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, aging, sun damage, loss of elasticity, inflammations and other skin sensitivities. There are 70+ products in the range of Ilike Organic Skin Care providing choice and blending possibilities for a wide variety of skin problems - for both the face and the body. The masks, salon treatments, serums, oils and moisturizers of Ilike Organic Skin Care are highly concentrated formulas providing our clients not just results, but also cost effective solutions (due to only requiring the use small amounts).

The Ilike Organic Skin Care products are created to address specific skin types and conditions. It is important that you identify your skin type correctly, to select the products that will have the desired and maximum effect.

Each individual's skin can be described as a "type" such as dry, normal, combination or oily. Some may have a specific "condition" such as acne, rosacea, sun damage, dehydration, inflamed follicles or sensitivity. However, usually our skin is much more complex.

The experts behind the Ilike Organic Skin Care line have not only developed products, but also a method for diagnosing, treating and caring for your unique skin care needs. By examining your skin, asking questions about your lifestyle, eating habits, genetic heritage, and learning about your skin care history, your aesthetician will determine not only the most appropriate skin care products to address your skin in its current state, but also what regime will provide the best long term skin results.

Skin conditions such as acne, rosacea and cellulite can be treated with a healthy diet, exercise and active organic herbal ingredients applied directly to the skin. If you are not sure about your skin condition, please consult your aesthetician.

Skin Types

Dry Skin

Your skin feels dry and tight and you sometimes see flaking skin on your cheeks, chin and forehead. Fine lines may be present around your eye and lip contour areas. It is important to use a moisturizing treatment at night in addition to a daytime moisturizer to repair your skin while you sleep. Weekly exfoliation and nourishing masks will keep your skin soft and supple and will reduce fine lines and other signs of aging.

Normal/Combination Skin

Your skin has an even tone and is not overly dry or oily. Occasionally you may experience oiliness on your chin, nose or forehead or dryness on your cheeks, lips and around your eye contour area. You may also experience periodic outbreaks due to hormonal or environmental changes. Even perfectly normal skin needs daily maintenance and enhancing weekly treatments in order to avoid the effects of impurities and aging.

Oily Skin
Your skin is shiny, has visible pores and is prone to spots and blemishes. Make-up seems to slide off your skin as soon as it is applied. Oily skin has the benefit of not showing lines easily, but needs to be maintained to prevent breakouts and to control shine. For adults and premature skin, phytoestrogen rich herbal products can control the functioning of sebaceous and perspiratory glands, thereby balancing the sebum production and beautifying your skin from the inside out.

Chapped and Dry Areas

Chapped heels, elbows or knees can be avoided: soak your feet regularly in hot water with soap, and scrub off the thickened keratin layer with a loofah sponge. If the problem already exists, exfoliating herbal products can reduce the thickened keratin layer. Follow by soaking the skin in warm water, using a peel and scrubbing off the softened, thick and dead keratin cells with a foot file. Repeat several times if necessary. Then massage your skin with a deep moisturizing and nourishing cream.

Cellulite

Women's fibrous connective tissues run both parallel and vertically, unlike men's, which are arranged like a net. Additionally women's fat storing cells are just beneath the skin surface and can be easily seen, while those of men are deep amongst the muscles. Because of these factors, 80% of cellulite problems occur among women. Estrogens, the female sex hormones, also play an important role in the appearance of cellulite at different stages of life by promoting the retention of excess tissue fluid. Lack of exercise, use of contraceptives, antibiotics or steroids, unhealthy eating habits and dehydration can also cause cellulite, as residue accumulates in the cells due to slow metabolism and impeded circulation. Even tension and stress can contribute by slowing down digestion and circulation. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and essential fibers; drink plenty of fluids, and exercise. Scrub your body twice a day with a loofah sponge followed by massaging circulation-increasing products into the skin to strengthen the connective tissues. More intensive treatments are available.

Stretch Marks, Pregnancy Skin Care

The skin does break when stretched suddenly resulting in what are commonly known as stretch marks, which remain lighter than the surrounding skin. Stretch marks are primarily caused by pregnancy or weight changes. They appear on the tummy area and the breasts of expecting mothers, while body builders have them on the skin above their muscles. They also often appear on the thighs and the buttocks of overweight people after sudden weight gain, or on adolescents during a rapid growing period. There are products that can help prevent the formation of stretch marks by increasing the elasticity of areas of concern. Even after they have formed, a skilled Ilike aesthetician can help regain the original tight condition of the skin with circulation-stimulating cosmetics, tightening fruit products and electric treatments.

Tired and Swollen Legs

After a long day of standing, walking or irregular exercise, legs can easily become exhausted and painful. Insufficient blood circulation can cause swelling, fatigue and edema. Exercise your feet and apply herbal cosmetics rich in vitamins, trace elements and minerals that stimulate blood circulation.

Skin Sensitivity

Overly sensitive skin is characterized by redness or itchy spots, and often peels in scales and feels especially dry. This type of sensitivity tends to occur with people of fair complexion, those with light colored eyes, or those whose sebaceous glands do not function properly. In many cases, however, it is a result of lack of exercise, incorrect diet, environmental pollution and even the use of certain skin care products. If the center of inflammation is around the cheekbones, under the jaw, on the temple or around the ears, the problem could even be rooted in metal teeth fillings or other dental problems. Inflammation of internal organs or certain medication may also cause skin sensitivity.

Regular exercise to stimulate metabolism combined with eating more fruits, vegetables and fully extracted grain will go a long way toward regenerating the skin. Also try our rosehip products, which hydrate and recharge the skin with vitamins while calming inflammation and strengthening the resistance of the skin.

Acne or Seborrhea

Acne can affect skin at any age from adolescence to adulthood. Acne skin is usually characterized by normal to oily skin with clogged hair follicles leading to the formation of pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads. Seborrhea can be characterized by inflammation, severe outbreaks and possibly oily skin surface or yellowish scales causing itching. Acne and seborrhea can be caused by hormonal changes or factors such as pollution, stress or an unbalanced diet. The good news is that such skin problems can be alleviated over time by lowering stress, following a healthy diet and by a consistent professional and home skin care regime.

Sometimes confused with acne, rosacea often shows up as an inflammation and reddening on the nose, forehead, cheekbone or chin areas. Inflamed capillaries on the skin's surface give the complexion a red, blotchy or bumpy appearance. Pimples and pustules may occur, and in some severe cases, enlargement of the oil glands of the nose results in enlargement of the nose, or rhinophyma. Rosacea is usually a genetic condition, but certain factors are known to aggravate it. Avoiding hot liquids, alcohol, spicy foods and temperature extremes will help calm and clear the irritation.

Wrinkles

It is natural for all skin types to form lines as the years pass by, but inherited genes and an unhealthy lifestyle can accelerate the reduction in tissue firmness. Wrinkles are also formed when the connection of the keratin cells is too tight and cramped. Products with some glycolic acid are effective in loosening this tight cell connection, thereby smoothing wrinkles. And bioflavonoids, phytoestrogens and OPC (oligomeric proanthocianids) found in grape seed improve the vitality of the skin. Combining products containing these herbal agents while living a healthy lifestyle, sunbathing wisely and always getting enough sleep, can significantly postpone signs of aging.

Hyperpigmentation

We are all well aware of the skin damage that can be caused by sunlight. The result is unwanted brown pigments called blemishes (age spots, chloasma, moles, flat warts etc). While there are other causes of blemishes, such as localized irritations and inflammations, bad teeth and fillings, the most persistent are the result of sunburn. Reducing or even eliminating blemishes or unwanted freckles requires regular and persistent brightening treatments. A variety of effective treatments are available professionally, but persistent home care is also essential to a thorough lightening process. The use of stonecrop, glycolic acids, horseradish and oxygen treatments all contribute to a brighter complexion.

Dehydrated Skin

When the skin feels dry, unpleasantly stretchy, lifeless or grey, it is important to know what lies behind the dryness of your skin. The reason can be dehydration of the surface, deep layer dehydration, oil deficiency, improper washing, lack of exercise or excessive sunbathing. The result is the same, the solution: different.
Most cases of severe dryness are due to loss of the self-purifying and self-regenerating ability of the skin and resultant thickening of the horny layer. This thick horny layer isolates the skin, blocking the process of shedding from inside to outside and skin care products cannot be properly absorbed. Lightly exfoliating herbal cleansers and deep peeling AHA treatments remove dead cells and the skin regains its ability to regenerate itself.

Inflamed Follicles and Male Skin Conditions

Congenital factors or excessive thickening of the keratin layer, which restricts hair from penetrating the skin surface, cause the inflamed follicles on the legs and bikini line. The same reason leads to stubble rash for a man, which is a result of shaving products making the skin tough and thick, thus causing an ingrown hair. Suitable herbal cleansers and exfoliators dissolve the dead cells of the keratin layer while softening the skin, providing an antiseptic effect and relieving inflamed skin.

Toning

Toners refresh the skin and remove excess impurities. Toning is also important to balance the natural pH of your skin and to infuse it with vitamins and minerals. Skin will be rejuvenated, pores will be evened for better moisture absorption, and you can enjoy the aromatherapy benefits of the real fruits and herbs. The Ilike Organic Skin Care toners contain organic herbs that not only balance, but also revitalize the skin with vitamins and minerals.

Directions - To hydrate: simply spray toner to the skin several times a day. To cleanse: apply toner over entire cleansed skin surface with a cotton pad and leave on. Use twice a day after cleansing or mask or anytime your skin needs to be refreshed.

Exfoliating

Exfoliation brings vibrancy and smoothness to the skin. Regular exfoliation removes the build-up of the hard keratin layer, allows better absorption of other skin care products and makes skin clear and even. For mature skin, exfoliation helps remove dry flakes, revive fatigued skin and reduce fine lines.

Directions: Apply a thin layer of exfoliator to your skin after cleansing and leave on for 10-15 minutes for optimal results. Gently scrub off with a damp face towel or rub off with your fingertips.

Treating

Regular use of a facial mask improves the health and elasticity of skin and can be used to control dryness, oiliness, acne, rosacea or other skin conditions. Masks and special treatments from ilike organic skin care contain high amounts of vitamins and concentrated ingredients rich in nutrients such as bioflavonoids, polyphenols, fructose, pectins and phytoestrogens and are as varied and uniquely crafted as our moisturizers.
Directions: Apply to cleansed skin over entire face and neck area and leave on for 15-20 minutes for optimal results. Remove with a damp face towel. Use 1-2 times per week or as otherwise directed. Exfoliation increases the effect of masks.

Moisturizing

Moisturizers are slightly richer with a pH level close to neutral. Rich Moisturizers are created with high herbal oil content for the treatment of oil deficient skin.

Directions: Apply a thin layer of moisturizer over entire face and neck area after cleansing and toning skin. Enrich moisturizer with one of our serums or oil concentrates to achieve an even more radiant complexion. Use it as a final step of your daily regime in the morning and the evening. Moisturizers and rich moisturizers might be used as night creams for most skin types. Rich moisturizers are suitable to reduce the appearance of fine lines (ie; around the eye area) or treat lack of elasticity and even prevent stretch marks. Moisturizers and rich moisturizers might be used as night creams for most skin types.

Whipped Moisturizers have fruits and herbs with an acidic pH maintaining the acidic environment, in which herbal ingredients can be activated effectively. These fine, light creams require only a small amount for use on specific conditions or for the maintenance of flawless skin.

Moisturizers hydrate and soften skin. Even oily skin needs a light moisturizer to maintain softness and suppleness, or prevent increased sebum production. Select from a range of Ilike moisturizers created for specific skin types and conditions.

Enhancing the Moisturizer for Special Skin Needs or Conditions

While often not a part of a typical skin care regime, Europeans have used serum treatments and oil concentrates for generations, to address specific skin conditions. Due to the high herbal active ingredient concentration, only a small amount is needed for the treatment of conditions such as acne, rosacea, imbalanced sebum production, fine lines and wrinkles or lack of elasticity. A lecithin cover on the molecules of our liposome gels aids their absorption into the skin. Our herbal oils have very high levels of Vitamin E, so they not only protect and regenerate the skin, but also compensate the lipid film deficiency and decrease inflammation as well.

Directions: After cleansing and toning, apply serum and massage in with circular motions on entire face and neck area avoiding the eyes. Apply moisturizer over serum. For oilier skin: Apply serum as a cream substitute in the summer or under very humid weather conditions. Use a couple drops of Ilike Herbal Oils to enrich your moisturizer.

Eye Treatments
It is never too early or too late to start caring for fine lines. The sooner you start a preventative skin care regime, the greater the result that can be achieved. If you are over the age of 25, it is recommended you begin using eye contour treatments daily.

Directions: Apply a small amount of cream, serum or oil around your eyes with a gentle tapping motion against the wrinkle lines (do not pull the delicate skin). For extra hydration, or deep layer oil deficiency, apply a thicker layer in dry areas of the body or face. Use as a final step of your daily skin care regime in the morning and the evening.

Moisturizing Body Lotions
Your body deserves to be cared for, just as your face does. You can find a solution for age spots or hyperpigmentation, even cellulite and other elasticity problems. Use one of our Ilike Organic Skin Care body lotions to hydrate, nurture and revitalize your skin after every bath or shower.

Directions: Apply body lotion suited to your skin type to clean skin and massage it in. Use twice daily or after every shower or bath.

Ilike organic skin care products have received the BDIH certificate. We are proud to add this qualification to our manufacturer's Hungarian organic certification. These two certificates - along with the ISO 9001:2001 quality control certification - guarantee that our customers receive the purest skin care products by the strictest worldwide standards. Please read below the BDIH requirements that have to be met in order to receive their certificate:

BDIH - Requirements

During the collection and production of raw materials, nature is to be disturbed as little as possible. Particular care to protect endangered species is mandated. Genetic manipulation and modification are rejected. The transformation of raw materials into cosmetics is to be accomplished with care and with few chemical processes.
Renewable and biodegradable materials are preferred because their ecological impact is substantially lower, especially when they come from controlled biological sources or other responsible means using natural resources. With natural ingredients, one deals with substances that have been used and studied for ages, so there is a minimal toxicity potential. Natural products most easily fulfill the requirement of accountability and socially responsible production.

The choice of technical production methods is limited. Technical methods cannot be fully eliminated especially when the user's expectations for purity and performance cannot be met by raw materials in their natural state. Environmentally-friendly production methods, renewable and biodegradable materials and minimal use of packaging are practiced.

The following guidelines define the concept of natural cosmetics in a sensible and clear manner, with the consumer's expectations of safe and ecologically sound products in mind.

Guidelines

1. Raw Materials Obtained from Plants
Raw materials obtained from plants should be used from:
- controlled biological cultivation, taking quality and availability into account, or
- controlled biological wild collections

2. Animal Protection
- No animal testing may be performed or commissioned when end products are manufactured, developed or tested.
- Raw materials that were not available on the market before 01.01.1998 may only be used if they have not been
tested on animals. This does not include animal testing performed by third parties who neither were ordered and/or prompted by the ordering party to do so, nor are associated to the ordering party by company law or by contract.
- It is prohibited to use raw materials obtained from dead vertebrates (ie: spermaceti, terrapin oil, mink oil, marmot fat, animal fats, animal collagen or living cells).

3. Raw Materials Obtained from Minerals
The use of inorganic salts and raw materials obtained from minerals is generally permitted, except for those listed in point 5.
